START OF A NEW ERA.
THE END OF 4AM UBERS.
On the eve of Transport for London’s launch of the Night Tube, as one of the lines turning nocturnal was the Central Line, we thought over at the ‘East End’ we’d have a party to celebrate a new chapter in London night life. East End of The Line.
It turned into quite the jolly; there were cocktails and Bán Poitín boilermakers departing from all bar stations with no stops till 2am. In honour of the Oyster Card we had the Oyster Boy shucking free Oysters with a choice of Lemon, Tabasco and Raspberry Vinegar with diced shallots to dress them. This went down a treat and in just under 2 hours the Oyster Boy nearly had to top up.
To make the night move like a train we had Umbrella Radio’s very own John Robinson conducting tunes from the end of the drinking platform with a mix of London Rock like Chas & Dave, The Clash, Dr Feelgood and from all around the city.
All in all it was a craic’ing night.
