Currently under the canopy are award-winning neighbourhood bars Discount Suit Company and The Sun Tavern, development and tasting room, The Umbrella Workshop, musical platform, Umbrella Radio, and Umbrella London’s Ciders and Ginger Beer.

The Umbrella Workshop

Located on Boundary Street, E2. This Central Shoreditch space serves as an interactive development and tasting room for everything that is on sale in store.

Born out of necessity during lockdown 1, where we kept the East End and beyond sufficiently lubricated with bottled cocktails, cocktail kits, low intervention and natural wines, small producer spirits and of course Irish Whiskey. Due to our success we have launched our first bricks and mortar store – The Umbrella Workshop.

Situated in the old atelier workshops built in 1895, we have sensitively restored the space to its original feel, providing a unique setting for the shopping and sipping experience.

Discount Suit Company

Through an unmarked black door, down a narrow staircase and behind a heavy black curtain, lies Discount Suit Company. Opened in January 2014 in a former suit tailor’s store room, Discount Suit Company offers classically inspired cocktails in a unique and evocative atmosphere, reminiscent of the sites previous incarnation. A stripped back interior reveals original brick work, low hanging ceiling rafters and a bar top chiseled from a large cutting table.

Classically inspired cocktails and bar snacks are served to a soundtrack of Northern Soul and Vintage Rock n Roll complimented by DJ’s every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Drinks are delivered tableside and at the bar, cementing Discount Suit Company as one of the East Ends must-visit bars.

The Sun Tavern

The Sun Tavern is an East London institution, founded in 1851 on Bethnal Green Road and reborn through renovation and restoration in 2014. A neighbourhood bar that honours its roots, The Sun Tavern offers classically inspired cocktails, London’s largest selection of Irish Whiskey, the world’s largest collection of Poitín, local fine ales, live music, resident DJs, bar snacks and friendly service at the bar and tableside.
