Killowen Cuige Poitín Set

Inspired by Killowen’s ancient Mourne Mountain home and the hills & peaks that shape the land; this unique wood seasoning experiment combines Killowen’s historic mashbill poitín with five distinctive beers from Ireland’s bygone Cúige (provinces), to create a limited series that celebrates the unrivalled spirit of Ireland. 

This unique seasoning experiment acknowledges the historical five provinces by finishing a unique poitín in five different firkin casks from five select breweries, each representing those old provinces.  Created in collaboration with Mescan Brewery – Connaught, Whitewater Brewery – Ulster, O Brother Brewery – Leinster, Dead Centre Brewery – Meath & West Kerry Brewery – Munster. 

The mash bill for each is: 50% Peated Barley, 21.6% Un-malted, 14.2% Oat (malted & peat-smoked onsite), 7.1% Wheat, and 7.1% Rye.
