In 1845, William Hinton set up an agricole rhum distillery on the isle of Madeira. Taking on modern the techniques of the time, they became the islands most iconic distillery. Sadly due to people looking down at rum, the distillery had to close. In 2006, excited by the modern worlds love of historical spirits the rum taps were turned back on.
