Whiskey Tasting Voucher at The Umbrella Workshop.
Join us for our Irish Whiskey Tastings each and every Saturday, where you will taste five different Irish whiskeys and also a poitín just for good measure. You will learn all about the tradition of Irish distilling, from triple distilled Single Malts to Single Pot Still whiskeys and the events that shaped these spirits.
Each session will take place at 2pm, lasting an hour and a half, and are priced at £65 per person. In addition, guests can continue their evening at one of our near-by, award-winning bars – The Sun Tavern with its extensive Irish Whiskey List, or neighbourhood cocktailbar, Discount Suit Company. Guests will be taken to their preferred bar by black cab where there will be a table reserved for their group at no extra cost.
We love to share our enthusiasm for fine spirits so we’re delighted to offer regular instore guided tastings every Saturday afternoon where you can learn about the origins of Irish whiskey. Once a whiskey making powerhouse exporting to every corner of the globe and even outselling Scottish whisky in Scotland, the history of Irish whiskey is compelling and full of intrigue. From boom to bust, the industry suffered and was reduced to just two distilleries in the 80’s. Now showing a strong resurgence, there is no better time to learn about Irish whiskey distilling.
Tasting Format
- Length: Session last approximately two hours
- Reception Cocktail: Enjoy a whiskey cocktail before the tasting begins
- Introduction to the tasting: Introduction to the tasting by our experienced bartender leading the class
- Tasting: Taste a range of Irish whiskeys starting with a poitín
- Afters: We can arrange for a taxi to either of our sister bars, The Sun Tavern to continue your Irish whiskey education, or Discount Suit Company for classic whiskey cocktails
