Drioli Bitter Amaro 1960’s

Francesco Drioli set up his eponymous firm in 1759, exactly 100 years before Gaspare Campari began to tinker with his famous bitter.  At some point Drioli began to produce a similar bitter.  This bottle dates to sometime before 1959, roughly 200 years after Drioli went into business, and roughly 100 years after Campari first released Campari Bitter in 1860.  Like many brands who imitated Campari to produce a red bitter with their name block printed across the top edge of the front label above Bitter in cursive script below, sadly Drioli is now defunct.

This is an amazing 1960’s example, still with a bright and vibrant red colour waiting to be tasted
